We are in the age of fast paced media and messaging. It's more likely to be a sensation which people like to share, and share it first. At AWMH we have many sensational positive stories of children and adults with intellectual disability to share. The five Early Intervention centres that we run at Khetwadi, Ghatkoper, Mulund, Dombivili and Mankurd have many success stories which are truly amazing. How the mothers struggle to bring their children to our centres and how the child overcomes obstacles to achieve his / her potential. These are the children who are born with multiple odds ( poverty, defect, disability, gender, living condition ) which are stacked against them. And yet they achieve what is truly remarkable. The earlier a child is brought to our centres better are the results. Therefore whenever you come across a child with disability please refer him to us or best bring him / her to us for the first two visits and AWMH will take care of the rest.
Our sports coaches and volunteers are also doing a great job of training persons with Intellectual disabilities. Our cricket & table tennis tournaments have gained state prominence. Is your school or workshop, based in Maharashtra, taking part in AWMH tournaments ? if the answer is no, please contact us. We would like you to be part of our sensational and nail biting finishing games. But we treat everyone as a winner, and our winners are always brimming with pride, dignity and sense of purpose. You will see a remarkable change in your students when they return back from our tournament.
AWMH also runs a recreation and self advocacy club for Persons with Intellectual disabilities. On the weekends they get together and enjoy life that you and me can only wish. So introduce your friend with Intellectual disability to us and you both will cherish your time in our recreation club family.
At AWMH we don't believe in charging for any services since these are all sponsored by benefactors like you. Our benefactors are our strength since it's not only their donations we value, their time is equally valuable to us.
